The year 1984 is an important milestone in the Pensioners' movement of our Bank.

The year 1984 is an important milestone in the Pensioners' movement of our Bank. During 1974 to 1984 Pensioners 'Associations were established in few Circles. A Federation of all Circle Pensiners Associations was formed on 23-09-1984 with its headquarters at New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Shri B.Bhattacharya, then Chief General Manager of Delhi Circle. Shri S.D.Varma was elected as President. The Governing Body of the Federation consisted of President, 4 Vice-Presidents (one for each Zone), a General Secretary, a Secretary, a Treasurer and 11 Committee members. Bye laws were unanimously adopted and our Federation was registered at New Delhi on 29.8.1986 under the Societies Registration Act 1960.

The Federation functioned at Delhi as its Heads Quarters for six years upto 1990. On 4th March, 1990 it was shifted to Madras with Shri P.S.Santhanakrishnan as its President and Shri N.D.Ranganathan as its Secretary. In 1993 the Federation Head Quarters was shifted to Pune with Shri B.R.Gadre as President and Shri B.G. Dandekar as Secretary. From 1999, the Federation was functioning with its Headquarters at New Delhi and with Shri B.Rai as President. Shri V.D.Bhog as Secretary upto 2003 and there after Shri Damon as Secretary. From 2009 to 2015, the federation was functioning from Chennai as its headquarters with Shri B.K. Ghose as President and of Shri. P.P. Sankara narayana murthy as its General Secretary. Thereafter the federation headquarters was shifted to Hyderabad with Shri. Ramesh Babu as its General Secretary. Presently the federation's headquarters functions at Kolkotta, Shri. G. K. Gandhi as President, Shri. D. K. Basu, as General Secretary, and Shri. R. Chhabria as Secretary.

Our Founder Leaders have done yeoman services in promoting our Associations and Federation as organizations of all cadres of pensioners of our Bank. With their personal contact with the Top Management of our Bank, they could secure some improvement in our benefits. Shri P.S.Santhanakrishnan, Former President of our Federation and founder President of Chennai Circle Association along with Shri B.G.Dandekar, Former President of our Federation and Shri N.D.Ranganathan, Founder Secretary of our Circle Association have been instrumental in formulating the Retired Employees Medical benefit Scheme. They could secure the revision of the minimum pension of the Pensioners of Presidency Banks and IBI to Rs.200/- p.m.
